WHAT WE DO...

Professional Development helps students, alumni, and industry representatives create meaningful connections within the Queen's community.

STUDENTS

Our team works hard to prepare students for their dream career by providing them with the skills they need for success. PD strives to provide students with opportunities to learn, build relationships and prepare for the professional world.

ALUMNI

Professional Development's further focus lies in helping alumni stay connected to both current students and their fellow graduates. Our team curates events that allow alumni to meet the Queen's community and share valuable industry knowledge and experience.

WHO WE ARE...

Professional Development's services & resources are managed by our team's various committees.

ALUMNI RELATIONS

The Alumni Relations team strives to create opportunities to reconnect alumni with current students. Whether it be mentoring a design team, guest speaking at our Alumni Networking Summit, participating in a career panel to anything else you can think of, we want to provide opportunities to connect with you and share your experiences.

INDUSTRY RELATIONS

The Industry Relations committee provides students with important services for career development. Our team holds valuable networking & info sessions with industry representatives and helps prepare students in time for summer internship applications through interviewing & cover letter workshops. Resume review drop-in sessions & online submissions are also available year-round to help students create the ideal resume.

WORKSHOPS

The Workshops committee provides students with valuable tutorials & info sessions that help Queen's Engineers build important skills for career development. Our team holds workshops for mock-interviewing, LinkedIn, Python & data science, career exploration, summer internships, networking, and more. Our goal is to ensure that students feel prepared and ready to take on their desired field.

ALUMNI NETWORKING SUMMIT

The Alumni Networking Summit is a one day event held in Toronto for Queen’s Engineering Alumni and Students. Our goal is to help students build valuable relationships with alumni and learn from their knowledge and experience. We also wish to provide a channel for alumni to give back to the school in a non-monetary fashion, and to learn more about what is happening on campus through speaking directly with students.
